Domain Gallery is pleased to present External/Internal, a solo exhibition by spanish artist Emilio Gomariz curated by Manuel Fernández.
Emilio's art practice explores the creative possibilities of the Macintosh's operating system X, appropriating its tools to generate and animate compositions halfway between minimalism, conceptual art and geometric abstraction.
Gomariz is interested in the idea of the computer desktop as current artist's workplace, where he investigates and plays with the different features and tools the own OS provides.
For External/Internal exhibition at Domain Gallery, Emilio presents five sculptoric works based on biggest icons compositions of internal and external hard drives which have been installed on the desktop, by organizing the digital icons as real physical objects.
Thus Emilio shows together with Macintosh's operative system the physical hardware existence connected with the digital visual representation, and remarks the relationship between user and interface.
